go green?

i have to admit, i'm starting to become more conscientious (hope this was spelled correctly) about the environment. i do worry about the state of the earth and i'm making green efforts, here and there, not too crazy (i don't dump my civic and buy a prius, for example). i try to bring my own bag when i shop. i changed all the lightbulbs in the apartment.

anyways, it just dawned on me that my mommy is a natural environmentalist, and she's been one before all this craze came to happen. she doesn't do it for the green reasons, she does it for the "other" green reasons (a.k.a $$ - ka-ching!).

paper towel- she will wash it and reuse those strong bounty towels and got all mad at me when i threw one out that was only used once. she saves money buy reusing the paper towel, the environmentalist will praise her efforts for saving the trees.

lightbulbs- lo and behold, she actually changed all the lightbulbs to compact flourescent ones, on her own. to save the electricity bill (who cares about conserving energy?)

washing- she only uses cold water for laundry. she saves heating bill (and conserves energy).

lights- she always yells at us if we leave the lights on when we were younger. to her, it's to save $$. and that's what all the green people tell us to do.

water- she will also yell at us if leave the tap open for too long and hey, jennifer anniston apparently does the same thing!

good job mom! (and all she cares about is to save money... which is not a bad thing, really).
