i'm leaving tomorrow morning and i have no intention to start packing now. i'll just throw everything into my suitcase and call it a day. spent the day running around for stuff people are asking to bring back (people=parents). my study group got cancelled (thank God!) and instead of packing/catching up on readings, i'm... procrastinating. no surprise there.
jakarta, here i come!

back to real (busy) life
sooo after a nice week-long trip to lonesome country by the name of alaska, we are back in the city. we had a good time (great time, actually). it was freezing cold (never gone further than 50 deg) and it was peaceful and quiet and nice. the views were beautiful and the people were soo friendly it was scary. everyone said hi to everyone and we made some friends (mind you, most of them were 60 or older haha...).
and now we're back in the lower 48 (as they called it) and it's back to busy reading, studying, cleaning the apartment, etc. even crazier is that i'm going back to jakarta in 2 days. 2 freakin' days!! and i'm only going back for 1 week, literally. 7 days in jakarta. i will still be jet-lagged by the time i get back here. oh well, this trip was not planned and i have to go back for something important ;-P
nevertheless, this 7-day trip will be filled with studying, again. and when i come back, summer will be almost over boohoo... it's going to be 2 more weeks before work and school start again. yikes!

take a good look at your shitty past...
there are periods in my life that i just do not want to remember, and middle school is one of them. hated the school, hated everything about it. gives me the creeps when i remember those 3 painful years. i dunno, i just hate it. really really hate it. and now some people are posting old pics from middle school on their site and it annoys me to death. i guess they enjoyed middle school, not me. definitely not. (disclosure: i have nothing against the people, really. it's just me. i'm the weird one.)
i got so bothered by it but i took one good look at the pictures, read people's comments and surprised that some of them still remember exactly what happened at that time, at that moment. me, i just want to forget them all. ugh.
now high school is a different story. loved loved loved my old high school. i love all my friends (and i'm still in contact with them now!) and even though i had to leave the school a couple years early, i still remember everything that happened, the laughter, the jokes, the good stuff, the bad stuff.
"it's the people around you that takes out the best, or the worst, in you"
i guess middle school was pretty rotten because i was like a bad apple there. so for all of you who enjoyed middle school, you know why you enjoyed it. and i know why i don't. damn.

aaagghh
ugh i did something so stupid in the kitchen just now, that resulted in several things:
1. never realized my kitchen floor is that dirty (even though i sweep and mop it clean every week). the floor is now spotlessly clean after i spent 1/2 hour cleaning it using the old indonesian way, on my knees with paper towel and cleaner,
2. the whole kitchen is now spotlessly clean, since i had to clean and scrub the whole damn thing,
3. i ended up washing lots of dishes, and...
4. i will never make carrot juice again.

summer? what summer?
my study group met yesterday and we decided to meet EVERY WEEK this month and august to study whatever we need to study. it's a good thing and thank goodness i'm not working this summer or i would've killed myself (twice!).
the exam is early october and we only have 3 months to study (well, 2 1/2 really). if you see the amount of readings we have to do, you would ask me why i'm wasting my time writing on this blog and not use the precious time to start reading. actually, i am asking myself that right now (yeah, you, why are you wasting your time?)
oooohhh procrastination is kicking in. must. study. now.must. now. study. now.

phew
i just finished my big ass essay thank goodness! finished my research paper last night, got up early today and wrote my paper, and did it in 1.5 hours woot woot i'm the woman!
now i just have to read a bunch of articles and write summaries before i leave for class, since my study group is meeting after class today. not fun but it's good for me to have deadlines or i will never read those super-boring articles.
sigh. it feels so good to finish that essay, and everytime i finish something i always tell myself never to leave it to last minute, but i think my brain works much better when i'm pressed for time :D
and tomorrow the real holiday begins! (well not really since i have to keep studying for the mighty important exam in october). no end in sight. sigh.
